[Job] Software Developer in Test [Wolfram]

Wolfram, creator of Mathematica, Wolfram|Alpha and the Wolfram Language, is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Software Developer in Test to be part of its Quality Assurance department. A successful candidate for this team will have the ability to be flexible and productive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform manual testing of new features to verify functionality and conformity to design, and to ensure effective utility to end users
  • Study and critically analyze design/functionality specifications to identify issues, suggest improvements and report bugs
  • Promptly update bug reports when necessary, and assist developers with reproduction and understanding of bugs
  • Design, implement and maintain tests/methodologies/processes in test automation suite
  • Build internal tools and documentations
  • Discover and report regressions through regular execution of test automation suite and through manual testing
  • Retest fixed bugs to confirm that the incorrect behavior has been fixed without introducing new regressions
  • Cultivate collaboration with developers, managers and fellow testers to optimize testing efficiency and ensure comprehensive testing coverage
  • Provide QA support during the push of new or updated products to the public
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of modern testing tools and trends available to improve the existing test automation and processes

Requirements:

  • Proven experience with Java, HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Experience with performance and load testing tools
  • Experience with Selenium
  • Experience with Mathematica
  • Experience with a project-tracking tool like JIRA
  • Great attention to detail
  • Genuine interest and appreciation in improving quality of products
  • Good oral and written communication skills are a must
  • Ability to learn and research new concepts, ideas and technologies quickly
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or related field
