I'm an engineer and am brand new to mathematica but programmed quite a bit in fortran (shows my age- old) and visual basic. I am interested in creating a program that will optimize a sum of several numerical integrals with respect to two or three parameters. Can this be done without stringing everything together? Is there anything similar to a subroutine in mathematica? Sorry if this is a naive question but the only references I have seen seem to string together a series of steps. For my case this would be pretty cumbersome. Hope this makes sense. Thanks
