When I type these,

B={{1,2},{3,4}}
Norm[N[B]]

the output is,

{{1, 2}, {3, 4}}

5.46499

But in old textbook, the command

MatrixNorm[N[B]]

is 7.(This command is not used anymore now but I cannot find the substitute for this :( )

How can I get this result?

Nice day!

I think you want the infinity norm:

Norm[N[B], Infinity]
