Get from Mathematica 5.2 Graphics to Mathematica 11.3 Graphics?

Posted 6 years ago

A recommendation on resources available for complex conformal mapping in 11.3 would be appreciated. I have a source for complex conformal mapping that uses 5.3 Graphics but would like to convert it to 11.3 Graphics. For other graphics applications, it is fairly easy to upgrade the graphics, but Conformal mapping is Graphics intensive, and seems not to be straightforward. Thanks for anyone's help.

my advice is it may not help. modify the notebook "to work with 11.x" instead.

why is that there are few things that are going to "work easily" using the 5.2 compatibility (many things may still be broken or even impossible), and the time spent dealing with that can easily outweigh the cost of upgrading notebook to run, also the results are better upgrading to / using the new functions.

try both but don't go "all in" on using the 5.2 compat package until having tried both

This page by Jens Nöckel may help: http://pages.uoregon.edu/noeckel/MathematicaVersions.html.

I wonder if the command <<Version5Graphics` still works.
