Weiszfeld-Algorithm

Posted 6 years ago

Hello!

I got the following task to the Weiszfeld algorithm:

"We imagine that the accident supply of ski slopes in a larger ski resort should be organized. Give yourself points that stand for ski slopes (at least 10). Define the accident frequencies that serve as weights in the optimization. The task is to designate the rescue helicopter locations so that the lowest average flight time is needed. Determine the optimal locations for the helicopters. What happens if you change the input parameters. Represent the process with Mathematica."

From my teacher we got an example ( a very long one, without explanation from her side) of how we can arrange our code. The problem is that I don't know 1. how to build this algorithm in Mathematica and 2. I don't understand this code, because she refuses to explain.

So my question is: 1. Does anybody work in Mathematica with Weiszfeld algorithm and have an example or something? 2. Or can anybody explain how I can change this one, so it looks like it came from me?

PS: my algo is in german, so here some explenation

  • ortx, orty, ortw are places

  • 'hub' is for helicopter

  • hubzugeh: like heli flys to

  • abbr: abort

The other ones I don't get.

Thank you in advance !!

Please post the actual code (not a picture of code).
