Creating GUI with Mathematica & Integrate with Webpage

Posted 11 years ago
Hi Guys,

I am very new to Mathematica

I would like to build a GUI using Mathematica and eventually integrate the GUI on a webpage. Any advice on how and which platform to code on?

Thanks in advance

how about MathLink? can create a UI on C++ linking to Mathematica via MathLink, that will work on computers without Mathematica? Is that possible?

I did not have experience with webMathematica. For arbitrary input fields in CDF see this blog

Using Mathematica Enterprise Edition to Create Professional Apps, Tools, and Reports

With respect to your comment - "I have no experience at all in building a webpage" - I think you do expect some knowledge if you wish to "eventually integrate the GUI on a webpage". Distinguished feature of CDF is that it requires minimal knowledge of web development. The video I linked to is for non-specialists.

On the other hand you may want to wait till Mathematica Online - you can apply for testing there.

Yes to both. And at least with CDF there is a free video course how to do it:

Thanks Sam,

Unfortunately CDF doesnt allow non-integer input from the users. And I have no experience at all in building a webpage.

Will I be able to overcome both the problems on webMathematica?

Thanks

Thanks Frank and Sam.

If I am to publish on my own server or my university's server, can I do it with both CDF and webMathematica?

Thanks

Take a look at CDF examples. Thousands of deployed to the web CDF apps at the Wolfram Demonstration Project.

I think you'll need webMathematica
