netCDF/HDF in Wolfram Alpha?

Posted 10 years ago

Hi

I wonder how one can work in WolframAlpha with data uploaded in netCDF or HDF5 format?

I mean, its very nice to have the general capability to import those multi-dimensional data sets into WolframAlpha - but what can I do with it except dispalying the file strcture and the file's meta information?

(Aim is to perform statistics on the data)

Any suggestions are welcome!

Wolfram|Alpha pro allows you to upload NetCDF and HDF5 files. It's hard to infer automatically what you can do with a hierarchical data format like that though, so it's fairly limited in what it can show you.

If you want to work with a file and do statistics with it, you'll probably want to program something. Mathematica provides tools for importing thee file types and a wide range of statistics.
