Hello Mathematica'ers, I have been thinking for years about a feature which would be great to add to Mathematica. (Or I'm so silly (not to say stupid), it already does exist) (User of Mathematica since V1.1.a). Is there a way to send graphics objects outside the current Notebook? Say in another window. Have fun and a great day. Jean-Michel.
Thanks David , you got it :) Was what I was looking for. My apologizes to the Community. Jean-Michel
There are many ways to program notebooks and user interfaces in Mathematica. Here is one very simple example pertinent to your question:
CreateWindow[DocumentNotebook[{TextCell[Plot[x, {x, 1, 2}], "Text"]}]]
PopupWindow?
PopupWindow doesn't do the trick at all. What I asked was...If we can send graphics to a new window outside the Notebook? A separate window which is not another Notebook. In...Maple...(sorry) you just type interface(window) and all graphics are sent away. So I hope that in a future version of Mathematica we can mimic this behaviour. Kind regards to all :) Jan-Michel
