WSM 4.2 Compile Errors with Visual Studio 2015 Pro

I'm using Visual Studio 2015 Professional with Intel Visual Fortran 2016. When I try to verify the compiler in WSM 4.2 I get the log and errors in the attached file. I mention IVF 2016 because I know there are some C++ resources that come with it, but I do not know if these are incompatible with SystemModeler.

fatal error RC1106: invalid option: -ologo

LINK : fatal error LNK1327: failure during running rc.exe

NMAKE : fatal error U1077: '"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 14.0\VC\BIN\cl.EXE"' : return code '0x2'

I'm (re)installing VS 2013 Express as a workaround

Some googling indicates that the problem can come from that the linker picks up an incompatible version of the resource compiler (from Windows SDK 6.x). See for example

Where does the WindowsSdkDir environment variable point to?
