I have a Targus USB number pad, which works wonderfully everywhere else but Mathematica (Which is why I need it). When I type any number on the pad, it appears with delimiters on either side (the symbol when the 'escape' key is pressed). For example, If I were to type a 6 in Mathematica, it would appear as [AliasDelimiter]6[AliasDelimiter].
