First steps in data analysis with Mathematica

Posted 8 years ago

Dear All,

I came back to Mathematica after many years. At the moment, I need to analyse some numerical data. I have my data in text files with one or more columns. I would like to:

  • import and plot
  • do statistical analysis
  • do some non trivial fits

Is there some nice tutorial around? I am finding the documentation a bit dispersive. Also, I have a problem. When I try to import data from a file, it shows me the whole long list on the screen. At the beginning, the suggestions bar was making it possible to show only a subset of the data on the notebook, but now this option seems to be gone. How do I get it back?

Thanks in advance!

Giuseppe

Thanks! There is so much stuff that it is easy to get lost.

Please see free tutorial videos with downloadable notebooks: Data Science Courses.
