Load in a long expression with the “<<” command?

Hi.

I have a problem with the “<<” command. I am using the “<<” command to load in a long expression for some calculations. When I execute the notebook, sometimes I get the following error message:

Get::stringorstream: -- Message text not found -- (filename)

To get the notebook running again, I have to quit Mathematica (quitting the kernel does not help). So far I could not track down the origin of this effect.

Any idea how I can get rid of the annoying thing?

Since it seems to a front-end issue, I guess it is some notation issue... i.e. a different keyboard layout that creates different characters because of language settings or so?

Try using the 'full form':

Get["file"]
