[Job] Junior Wolfram Technology Engineer [Wolfram]

GROUPS:

Wolfram, creator of Mathematica, Wolfram|Alpha and the Wolfram Language, is seeking a Junior Wolfram Technology Engineer to join our Wolfram Technology Group department. Junior Wolfram Technology Engineers will provide Wolfram software products and Wolfram-Language-programming problem resolution to clients by analyzing their questions and guiding them through step-by-step solutions. Solutions include, but are not limited to, installing and activating application software, verifying proper software setup, explaining product features and programming approaches, creating and providing illustrative code examples, analyzing and troubleshooting code samples, and outlining solution approaches for technical and programming problems. Additional duties may be assigned at the discretion of management.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver service and support to clients via email, phone, or remote connection
  • Remote installation/troubleshooting of software components
  • Gather customers’ information and determine the issue by evaluating and analyzing the symptoms
  • Diagnose and resolve customers’ software and programming issues
  • Research required information using available resources
  • Follow standard processes and procedures
  • Accurately process and record transactions using designated tracking software
  • Identify and escalate priority issues per client specifications
  • Create and update internal and customer-facing knowledgebase content as needed
  • Develop expertise in and expand understanding of existing and forthcoming Wolfram technologies

Requirements:

  • Programming experience in one or several programming languages
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific field
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written skills, including proper phone etiquette
  • Ability to create clearly written step-by-step instructions
  • Desire to expand beyond existing areas of expertise and skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Self-driven and motivated individual
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
  • Strong background in a technical or scientific field a plus
  • Wolfram Language programming skills a plus
  • Technical support experience a plus
  • Teaching experience a plus
