Avoid FrontEnd intermittently unresponsive?

Mathematica v11.1
Windows 7 x64
16 cores, 64 GB RAM
Three displays: Center 2560x1600, Left/Right 1600x1200
NVIDIA GTX 770

I have noticed the Mathematica FrontEnd becomes unresponsive sporadically. Current evidence of this behavior is in a small notebook with only simple input cells, no graphics or dynamics. I’ve tried to isolate the problem by disabling various features of the user interface (spell check while typing, etc.), but that has not helped.

Can anyone share similar experience?

Can you update to 11.1.1? the 11.1 to 11.1.1 update is bug-fixes only, so it might solve your problem. The update should be free for you.

Thank you. 11.1.1 doesn’t appear on my User Portal page, perhaps because our license is for gridMathematica rather than Mathematica. gridMathematica releases tend to lag a bit. I’ll ask WRI TS about this.
