Hi,
Upon running below command (from SemanticImport documentation page)
sales = SemanticImport["ExampleData/RetailSales.tsv"]
I got an error saying " The operation CreateFile is not allowed while running in sandbox mode".
Has anyone encountered similar error and knows a solution?
Many thanks.

Hi Xinkai,
What platform are you on, and what version of Mathematica are you using?

A bit more googling reveals that people have had similar issues with SemanticImport before: see below link
“SemanticImport fails for every file in Mathematica 11.0”
This is a follow up on this post .
Using SemanticImport on any file, even those mentioned in the Documentation examples e.g. :
SemanticImport["ExampleData/RetailSales.tsv"]
Gives an error:
SemanticImport::unexpinvaliderr: Unexpected invalid input was detected. Processing will not continue
I came across an issue with the SemanticImport as my previous attempt to import a large csv file caused a crash of the Mathematica Kernel and took Windows 10 Pro 64-bit with it as it consumed all remainin…
Can we please get this fixed? Rather disappointing that such a basic thing as creating Dataset from a csv file does not work …
many thanks

Hi Xinkai,
We’ve reported the issue and will look at it as soon as we can. Meanwhile, have you seen that “Dataset” was added as an element for Import of CSV/TSV in 11.2? Perhaps try this as a workaround for now.
Import["ExampleData/RetailSales.tsv", "Dataset", "HeaderLines" -> 1]
