How does one take a math equation and convert or translate it to C language

How does one take a math equation and convert or translate it to C language.
I am getting nasty equations in my courses that need to be dealt with and I have trouble with them. Is there some kind of translate or converter software from plain language into C language or common math equations into C language?

I tried using CForm[my equation] on wolfram alpha it wouldn’t take.
