Mathematica for AWS Cloud with standard OS image (linux RHEL)

How is the Mathematica licenses connected to the Hardware on which it is installed? I am being told that it is connected to physical machine and processor?
Can Mathematica software be installed on AWS cloud (EC2) with standard Linux (RHEL) operating system ?
If Yes, what is the installation process?
