I’m running 10.1 on a 12 core AMD Opteron 6344 system and Mathematica only sees 6 cores for parallel processing. All the cores are ready (not parked), am I missing a setting? Or is it due to the Opteron architecture?
Thanks

By default, Mathematica uses the number of physical cores, which typically is half of the number of virtual/logical/hyperthreaded cores.
If your Opteron CPU does have 12 physical cores, perhaps they are not being detected properly, but that setting can be easily overriden. See this post for more details.
Thank you for the response, The Opteron 6344 has 12 physical cores, but the implementation of it is know to have a few issues. After manually setting the core number and running the resource monitor confirms all 12 cores are busy. Issue solved.
Thank you again.
