Problem with DistanceMatrix and Alpha

Why Alpha doesn’t understand a simple expression like DistanceMatrix[{1, 2, 3, 4}] ?

I’ve taken it here from the documentation:

WolframAlpha and Wolfram Mathematica are somewhat different things. They have some things in common. It is sometimes possible to use some Wolfram Mathematica functions in WolframAlpha, but not everything can be used. Much of WolframAlpha cannot be used in Wolfram Mathematica.

Is Wolfram|One the minimal software package including all Mathematica functions? Or what else?
