Introducing our brand new YouTube channel, Wolfram R&D! Our channel features livestreams, behind-the-scenes creator presentations, insider videos, and more.
Join us for the unique Wolfram R&D livestreams on Twitch and YouTube led by our developers!
You will see LIVE stream indicators on these channels on the dates listed below. The live streams provide tutorials and behind the scenes look at Mathematica and the Wolfram Language directly from developers.
Join our livestreams every Wednesday at 11 AM CST and interact with developers who work on data science, machine learning, image processing, visualization, geometry, and other areas.

Thank you to everyone that attended the livestream today!
There were a few questions that I wanted to address here.
Is there an R&D session for Computational Geometry? Also would be nice to have something for PDE solvers and ongoing developments and future directions for Finite Elements.
We’ve heard your requests, in the coming weeks we will have livestreams on Computational Geometry and PDE’s. Stay tuned!
Can Mathematica solve Poisson equation or other PDE equations with say derivative order greater than 2?
We recommend that you look at the following pages: PDEComponent and NDSolve (NDSolve can solve the Poisson equation as well as systems of PDEs so in principle it can handle the types of PDEs mentioned by you, but please feel free to bring up this question again during the session on PDEs).
I am looking forward to presenting the “Latest in Graphics & Shaders” for our second livestream on Wednesday, August 17th!
During this livestream, I will be covering the basics of how shaders work and the various shaders available in the Wolfram Language. This includes the newly added symbols MaterialShading and DropShadowing.
If there are any specific questions regarding shaders you’d like me to address, please leave a comment below or ask it during the livestream.
I would be interested in seeing what is new and what is coming in the compilation framework.
For example, it would be very useful to have simple-to-somewhat-complicated working examples of FunctionCompile, KernelFunction, the relatively new Data Structures (e.g., CreateDataStructure[“PriorityQueue”]).
My name is Connor Gray, and tomorrow I’ll be talking all about Paclet Development in Wolfram Language!
Paclets are our technology for bundling up code, data, and more into a distributable and shareable format. I’ll also talk about our new Wolfram Paclet Repository (https://paclets.com), which is a place that anyone can publish their projects to be shared with the rest of the Wolfram Language community.
Feel free to ask questions during the livestream, or leave them here in this thread ahead of time.
The livestream for Latest in Machine Learning on Sept. 21 will be rescheduled for next month!
Next week we will be hosting the first ever Q&A session with Visualization and Graphics Developers. Find out more information here and add your questions: https://community.wolfram.com/groups/-/m/t/2618033
Today on Wolfram R&D livestreams we featured our first ever Q&A featuring Graphics and Visualization developers! Thank you to Brett Champion, Yuzhu Lu, Matthew Adams and James Lane for joining us!
Find a recording of the livestream on Twitch or YouTube.
We were excited to see the engagement during the livestream today and will be having more Q&A sessions. Our next one will be on Calculus, look out for the schedule soon!
Let us know if you have a suggestion for a Q&A session you’d like to see below.
