(ResourceSubmit::apierr) Ghost entry in Paclet Repository after deletion prevents republishing version 1.0.0

Hi everyone,

I am running into an issue where a deleted paclet appears to be stuck in a “ghost” state on the Wolfram Paclet Repository, blocking me from republishing it.

  • Paclet Name: Rocketica

  • Version: 1.0.0

  • Publisher ID: BingbinYang

What happened:

  1. I originally published version 1.0.0 of Rocketica.
  2. After a complete architectural rewrite, I wanted to republish the new code starting fresh from version 1.0.0.
  3. Two weeks ago, I deleted the original resource via Your Publisher IDs > Published Resources on Wolfram Cloud.

When submitting the new build, it fails with:

Current Repository State:

  • Rocketica no longer appears in the alphabetical index (under “R”).
  • Searching for “Rocketica” via the search bar still returns the old entry.
  • Clicking the search result leads to a blank/empty page.

Since it has already been two weeks, is this something that will resolve on its own if I keep waiting, and if so, roughly how much longer should I expect it to take? Or would it be better for me to just bump the version to 2.0.0 and publish it instead?

Hi,

Thank you for your message. We acknowledge that this is an issue with the repository and will investigate it further, working toward a resolution as soon as possible. In the meantime, we recommend bumping the version number as an immediate workaround.

Thanks.
