Special characters not allowed in subject

I found a problem with post subject lines:

It seems that special characters, such as colons (!!) are not allowed in post titles. I tried to post a question with the title

What does :ArgumentTypes: Manual mean?

but it got truncated to “What does” and the post title does not seem to be editable, so I’m stuck with this title.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We are aware of this and are currently addressing a proper solution. Here is the summary of things to be aware of in relation to the titles of the posts:

  1. Titles are not yet editable
  2. Titles are limited to 75 characters
  3. Titles do not allow usage of special characters

We are working on improving this functionality.
