Steps from one term to another

Hello,
is there a way to get the steps needed to transform something like this
2^(n+1)*n+2^(n+1)*n
to this:
2^(n + 2)*n

If I put it in as an equation, it just tells me Result: true.

How about Factor:

Factor[2^(n + 1) n + 2^(n + 1) n]

That does not show more information just writing 2^(n + 1) n + 2^(n + 1) n

Factor[2^(n + 1) n + 2^(n + 1) n] // Simplify
also works
