Symbolic Integration of piecewise function

I would like to integrate a piecewise function, using a variable in the bounds of the integral.

Is it possible to specify that the variable belongs to a particular set? For example, if I have a piecewise function defined on a support of two sets, say 0 < x < 1/2 and 1/2 <= x < 1, can I compute the symbolic integral of that function from A to 1, specifying that 0 < A < 1/2?

Have you tried using the option Assumptions in your Integrate[ ] function?
