Why is it that System Modeler does not select installed C++ compiler from system path variable

When using the System Modeler to simulate even an example model, it cannot use any other compiler save Visual Studio stuff. Why is it that the compiler from other sources are not used but that from Visual Studio?

On Windows, we only support the Visual Studio Compiler.
