As a kid I already wanted to study the universe, the big bang theory, the stars; but after learning, as an undergrad, about the small scale structure of things, the fundamental objects that describe all the matter we know, I couldn’t choose between them. Luckily, I didn’t have to—I study the interaction between quantum physics and general relativity, the physical phenomena that emerge within a semi-classical analysis, quantum matter on classical background, known as “quantum field theory on curved spacetimes”.
