ABOUT ME:

Law, finance, and uncertainty. Visualizations.

I teach in a law school courses that touch finance and, therefore, uncertainty. I believe in Anscombe's point that numbers do not reveal patterns, only graphs do (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anscombe%27s_quartet) and the story is not in the numbers but in the patterns. Accordingly, I try to create visualizations for the topics I discuss and analyze. I have published a few books and several articles and I increasingly try to reveal patterns with graphs.

My doctoral dissertation was on securities fraud (insider trading, class actions and the presumption of reliance, the justification of disclosure obligations). I have written of securities and reorganizations matters and on judicial decision-making. The Supreme Court cited a reorganizations article of mine as have other courts.
