ABOUT ME:

John Joseph Marchetta has focused the majority of his undergraduate research on the theoretical Casimir effect while he was completing a B.S. in physics and mathematics at Southern Illinois University- Carbondale. He is now a first year Ph.D. student at Baylor University conducting research in loop quantum cosmology and mathematical aspects of general relativity related to surface identification. Before coming to Baylor, he spent time traveling overseas, teaching, and writing stories; three things he continues to enjoy when not doing physics or catching up with friends and family. John Joseph's curiosity is driving him to understand the possible new physics that governs the Plank scale through exploring and comparing various models of quantum gravity.
