Lybrya Kebreab, Ph.D is an adjunct professor and project manager at the Institute for STEM Collaboration, Outreach, Research, and Education (iSCORE) at Saint Louis University. Her research interests include mathematics-specific belongingness, mathematical content and pedagogical fluency development with prospective and in-service teachers, and sharing and refining effective practices focused on facilitating meaningful discourse of high-quality, beautiful mathematics. As a former elementary and secondary teacher, Dr. Kebreab also uses her research on mathematical belongingness to learn how mathematical modeling (PreK-16) can (a) deepen her own understanding as a mathematics learner and educator, and (b) be studied with respect to its impact and implications on systemic, equity-oriented student outcomes.
