ABOUT ME:

Russell Deaton, Ph. D., is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Memphis, and is currently Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Administration of the Herff College of Engineering. He is formerly a department chair and interim dean. He was also a Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Arkansas.

Since 1995, Dr. Deaton has done research first, in DNA computing, and subsequently, in algorithmic self-assembly of materials, primarily at the nanoscale. Currently, his research focuses on the role of electrical mechanism on self-assembly, particularly of biomaterials.
