ABOUT ME:

I'm a theoretical physicist, working on General Relativity, and I'm based at CAMGSD — Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon. I obtained my PhD on Physics – General Relativity at University of Porto in 2012. I then moved to CAMGSD, where I was a postdoc (FCT fellow) from 2013 until 2018; I have since been a contracted researcher there, working on Mathematical Physics – General Relativity. Since the start of my PhD, my research has been devoted to the broad problem of motion in general relativity, in its two sectors: the gravitational field produced by moving matter (“gravitomagnetism”), and the equations of motion for realistic (thus extended, and spinning) bodies under the action of a given external field. The similarities with electromagnetic phenomena (that emerge in both sectors) have led to the interest in gravito-electromagnetic analogies, on which I focused during my first research years.
