ABOUT ME:

I earned my Ph.D. in Physics from Kansas State University in 1981 and then served as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate and Visiting Assistant Professor of Physics at KSU for six years before joining the staff at Lawrence Livermore Na-tional Laboratory in 1987 as a staff scientist charged with the design and execu-tion of device diagnostic experiments associated with the U.S. Underground Nuclear Test Program. Following the end of nuclear testing in late 1992, I joined what was then the Physics & Advanced Technologies Directorate at LLNL and focused my attention on the development of detailed Monte Carlo computer simulations of inertial confinement fusion (ICF) diagnostics and a va-riety of nonintrusive inspection systems proposed for use in nuclear stockpile stewardship applications, cargo and luggage inspection schemes, and nuclear counter-terrorism. I am currently attached to the Nondestructive Evaluation section of LLNL’s Materials Engineering Division.
