I am a mathematical physicist. My work centers on the study of noncommutative (aka quantum) spaces. These are geometric objects arising in situations where the underlying symmetries lead naturally to the use of techniques that go beyond classical geometry.

I did my Ph.D. as part of the graduate school of the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics, graduating from Bonn University in 2007. During the next 7 years I worked as a researcher in mathematical physics at I.H.E.S., University of Utrecht, Universidad de Granada, Fields Institute and Concordia University. In 2014 I joined Universidad Javeriana where I was part of the Mathematics department for 9 years. Since January 2024 I am part of the Escuela Politecnica Superior at Universidad Francisco de Vitoria.
