ABOUT ME:

Eric Cheung is currently an Associate Professor at the School of Risk and Actuarial Studies in the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Sydney. He obtained his PhD in Actuarial Science from the University of Waterloo, and worked at the University of Hong Kong as an Assistant/Associate Professor for 7 years prior to joining UNSW in 2017. Eric's main research interests include ruin theory, credibility theory, aggregate claims analysis, queueing theory, phase-type distributions and stochastic modelling, and he has published more than 50 papers in these areas. He is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries, and is currently an Associate Editor of Insurance: Mathematics and Economics and a member of the Editorial Board of Risks. Eric is also eager to promote actuarial science in related disciplines such as probability modelling, and has served as a Guest Editor of the special issue "Probability and stochastic modeling in actuarial science and related fields" in Probability in the Engineering and Informational Sciences.
