File save format to produce an Adobe PDF readable Presentation

Posted 11 years ago
I have a Mathematica Slideshow in *.nb format.
When I try to save it in *.pdf format, it gets very large and splits slide across page boundaries.
It is as if each slide is saved as an *tif file, given the size of the resulting and unusable file.
There must be a way to tell Mathematica to use page breaks at the end of each slide?
Is there a way to tell Mathematica to use *.jpg or other compressed format to reduce the size of the *,pdf file?

You can reduce the size of the pdf to some extent by opening it in Adobe Reader and then resaving it.
