How to stop automatic conversion to QPochhammer?

I am doing a calculation involving q-factorials. The products are expressed explicitly. Then Mathematica converts them into QPochhammer. The problem with this is that it then prints sums of QPochhammer. From a similar example, there may be huge calcellation if the explicit products are multiplied and added - which may or may not be the case here. This is possibly because it does not recognise that some of the parameters involved are integers. Ideally I would like to stop it including QPochhammer at all. Advice please?

Advice please?
Can you please give an example showing this QPochhammer conversion?
