Solve an equation for a deformation?

Posted 5 years ago

Hello all,

I am new to Mathematica.

I've two equations as follows:

We = -0.000160903 + 0.172876 r^2 - 0.0000312041 Log[r]

Wi  = 8.43416*10^-6 - 0.123953 r^2

For 1 st equation: -8.2<=r<=8.2 For 2nd equation: -5.0<=r<=5.0

I want to solve those equations for the above limits. How will I perform it? And the second question is I want to plot a graph r vs W.

Please help me out.

Regards Gowtham

Hey Rohit,

Thanks for your message. I've solved the problem.

But anyhow I get an error

RowReduce::luc: Result for RowReduce of badly conditioned matrix {{0.,0.,0.,0.,0.,1.,-4.65646,0.00009025,0.},{0.,0.,0.,0.,0.,0.,105.263,0.019,0.},<<5>>,{5.6108710^7,0.,-5416.31,4.0134910^11,-3.67011*10^7,0.,0.,0.,-1170.}} may contain significant numerical errors.

Could you please help me if you know it?

Hi Gowtham,

What have you tried? Have you looked at the documentation and examples for NSolve?
