Financial data science professionals and Wolfram technology experts will come together, in association with Fitch Learning and the CQF Institute, to share their knowledge and experience with you at the Computation Meets Data Science evening talk. Attendees will get the chance to discuss their own challenges and network with other attendees while seeing the latest advances in computational technology.
By showcasing how to inject cutting-edge computation at every level in your financial data science workflow, this evening talk seeks to promote how an "analytics-driven" decision-making culture can result in better, more insightful answers. So whether you're looking to improve your data science methodologies, empower technical collaboration or construct an enterprise-wide computation strategy, this evening talk will provide fresh advice and new perspectives.
Featured topics will include machine learning, data visualisation, advanced analytics and infographics, with applications ranging from finance to insurance, and many more!
Two talks will be provided in this event:
- Data Science Is More Than Just Statistics by Jon McLoone
Much of the focus in data science tends to be the application of traditional statistics techniques in more automated ways. This talk will discuss how this automation now makes it possible for data scientists to apply much more sophisticated computation to their data to achieve deeper insights and derive more value from the data. Computational techniques originally developed for science and engineering applications can often be applied, in sometimes surprising ways, to big data applications. During the talk, well see how techniques from machine learning to image processing to signal processing are now easy to apply.
- AI Live: No Experience Required by Mark Braithwaite
A fast-paced, interactive and example-driven exploration showcasing the AI capabilities of the Wolfram Programming Language. This presentation will demonstrate how sophisticated AI tools can be rapidly developed and deployed to extract new insights from your data and improve decision making.
