I have a general question regarding categorical data with mathematical meaning.
We have this wonderful function NetEncoder in Mathematica to encode many different kinds of data. The outcome are always numerical arrays.
Very often we have to standardize all numerical data via Standardize, Normalize or Rescale for Neural Networks or traditional Machine Learning algorithms.
Here comes my question: After encoding ordinal / categorical data, do I have to standardize them as well?
