Coordinate system being used when embedding Point or Arrow in Graphics3D

Posted 4 years ago

Hi

When you embed Point[ ] in Graphics3D, you need to specify the coordinates of where the point is to appear. However I cannot find where you would specify the coordinate system type that you are using, such as Spherical, Cartesian, etc. Is it possible and/or necessary to specify the coordinate system type that the points apply, and if so where do you specify the coordinate system type?

Thanks so much,

Mitch Sandlin

Hi From what I can tell, it seems that you are exactly right that the only input allowed is Cartesian. Is it possible to embed the TransformedField[ ] (or some other function) into the Point, Line, Arrow functions to increase the coordinate systems supported?

As far as I can tell from the documentation, the coordinates for Point, Line, Arrow are all cartesian. The only variations are Scaled, Offset, ImageScaled, which are still cartesian, but with different origins and units.
