Know of SSR dataset(s) from sizeable group(s) with known loci positions?

Posted 4 years ago

Hi, I'm working with Wolfram on some genetic distance measures for SSR profiles of perennial crops. One of the measures requires known absolute or relative positions of the SSR marker loci. Another statistically estimates the positions based on a sizable group of samples from the target species or genus.

So my first question is: Do SSR marker names (e.g., C35H1, FCUP024, LM30N1, M1F1) only indicate sites illuminated by a particular "dye", or can their relative/absolute loci positions be computed from the character sequence in the name, or is/are there a bioinformatics resource with an index of SSR marker vs loci positions?

Second question: would any of you happen to know of SSR dataset(s) from sizeable group(s) with known loci positions?

Thank you!
