Import 3D scanning file as 3D graphic?

Posted 3 years ago

I would like to know, if it is possible to scan objects with a 3d scanner and importing it in Mathematica in order to have a 3d graph which would allows to compute and gather informations such as slopes, functions, lengths, areas and any other things like that without too much work to do?

You mean to import a DICOM file? (Usual output of a CT scanner.) I paid a commercial company substantially to turn a DICOM file into an stl file. I wrote my own Mathematica code to get the stl into Mathematica ... there's probably code around to do that ...
