Is there a keyboard shortcut to open/close cells?

Posted 3 years ago

This seems like such an obvious thing, but I can't find a way to open or close a cell via a key stroke. Is there an options setting that I need to enable? I am trying to create a folding code editor.

Neil, and Jeffery, thank you very much. I had misunderstood your initial comment.

Cheers Andy

On Windows, it's <Ctrl> + ' to toggle a selected group open and closed. You just need your cursor in the top of the group to be closed/opened.

On a Mac keyboard It’s cmd + single quote. I see the problem—the single quote is hard to see so you typed the “-“.

If you are on windows it will be different.

Regards.

Hi Neil, I tried CMD - but all it does is reduce the font size. Have I misunderstood what you were suggesting?

Cheers Andy

For anyone else who stumbles across this question, it seems as though the answer is to use Cell Grouping, and then use the Open/Close group or Open/Close Subgroup commands.
