Why can't AnimateVideo do two substitutions of the animated variable?

Posted 2 years ago

Attempting to animate a plane as it sweeps through a sphere highlighting the intersection, the first AnimateVideo fails with video track 1 does not yield frames of consistent dimensions. The second AnimateVideo does not fail but only because there is no animation of the plane. The plane is a constant. Is this because AnimateVideo can do only one substitution of the animated variable and if so why?

I would give the option PlotRange -> 11 to Graphics3D to get a consistent PlotRange.
