speeding up 3d list plots, especially inside Manipulate

Posted 11 years ago
hello,
i have a question.
if i have a large set of data sometimes the plotting of the data can be quite slow. especially if i use a lot of functionality via manipulate or other options.
is there any way to know if mathematica is using my graphics card for these graphics objects?
if so is there a way to enable this, and will it make visualization of large data sets (say plots of 10000 points etc.) faster?
thanks in advance,
ofer.
