Unable to solve this system of equations with WolframPro

Posted 1 year ago

Hi, everyone, is this system too complex to solve for Wolfram Pro or is there a way to write it that enables solution?

x=ArcSin[(a sin(γ)-c sin(y)-d)/b], y=ArcCos[( b cos(x)+a cos(γ)-f)/c]

a, b, c, γ, d, f are constants; x, y the variable to find.

Thank you!

If a, b, c, γ, d, f are constants and x, y are what you're solving for, then it's already solved. You've already written x and y in terms of the others.

Yes but there is x(a, b, c, γ, d, f, y) and y(a, b, c, γ, d, f, x), so the sistem is not solved. To be solved I need x(a, b, c, γ, d, f ) and y(a, b, c, γ, d, f ).

What does that mean?

Oh, nevermind. I didn't realize that y was in the expression for x and x was in the expression for y. Side note, it would be nice if you used the formatting tools and gave us actual Mathematica code so we could just paste it into a notebook rather than try to inspect the text.
