Citing the method behind "EstimatedBackground"?

Posted 1 year ago

Dear All,

I used this command successfully for my Ph.D dissertation and now I need a reference to cite. What is the basic theory behind this method?

Thank you so much for your time.

Alex

If you are using EstimatedBackground's "SNIP" method, this reference will put you in the right direction: Morhac M - Nucl Instr Methods Physics Res A (2009) v600 p478-87 - An algorithm for determination of peak regions and baseline elimination in spectroscopic data.

The Wolfram folks may chime in with the precise reference they use.

If method is default Automatic, it uses SNIP. No idea what reference might have been used to code it though.

Dear Carl and Daniel,

Thank you for your help. I got the reference and attached it herewith for other Mathematica users.
