How to set Autosave to all notebooks after each evaluation?

Posted 1 year ago

A few years ago, I stumbled into a way to set Mathematica (macOS) to autosave all notebooks after each evaluation. I had to reset the app today, so whatever setting that was is no longer asserted. Does anyone know how to set NotebookAutoSave or something like it, globally?

Tried with no result: Settings, Option Inspector and NotebookAutoSave->True as an init cell

A belated thank you to Mr. Milton. Some surgery provided a distraction for a week.

I had not explored the real Global options, just the Notebook-global options. My error or impatience in not understanding Documentation… I was also able to disable CellLabel, so I am back to normal.

Well, it works for me. By first selecting Global Preferences in the popup menu:

Yes, I tried Option Inspector five times. The system always reverts to the default: False. I see no way to assert it and preserve True. In any case, I assume that method would only apply to a particular notebook. Is there a global setting somewhere?

Did you try this in Option Inspector?
