I wanted to use wolfram to do research in finance and investing area.

I tried to use free cloud service, and I was too slow. And interactivity of notebook is very buggy e.g. I can't copy and paste wolfram code from outside because syntax is not preserved. (double quotes and newlines are removed when pasted.)

Now I don't have confidence on whether I should buy it.

I am from Thailand, I don't have big budget, so I need advice on how I can make use of wolframe services for research purposes.

I need advice on the following:
1. how to use cloud service effectively? (it is supposed to be slow to the point of unusable? if not, how can I go about fixing it?)
2. If I can't use cloud, what are important points I should consider to buy other wolfram products.
