In Mathematica 14.2 on the Mac, I inadvertently deleted a selection of text in a long text cell. And it was gone. One or two quick key presses can cause this in less than a second. Of course I was in the "zone" and so had not saved for over half an hour. Since I was writing, i wasn't evaluating any cells during this time. Lost some really nice writing.
Undo was grayed out. This has happened to me before although not often. I don't think it should happen in 2025.
I know there are other threads (most over 10 years old) on this subject. But I wanted to bring it forth as a current problem that still remains.
If for some reason, a technical fix for undo is impossible, perhaps a simple solution could help. For example, a reminder to the user to save after a certain amount of time configured in the preferences. And clear communication with customers as to this pitfall.
